Corrections Policy
EV prices, incentives, and rules change often. We would rather fix a guide quickly than defend an outdated number. This page explains what we correct and how.
How to report an error
Email [email protected] with:
- The full page URL on fairrangeev.com
- The incorrect claim (quote or paraphrase)
- A reliable source we can check, ideally an official agency or manufacturer page
We aim to review correction requests within seven days.
What we correct
- Factual errors: a wrong number, date, specification, rule, or source.
- Outdated information: a price, rate, or incentive that has changed since the guide was last verified.
- Policy changes: for example, a federal or state credit that ends or starts. We update every guide that relies on it.
- Broken links or tool errors: a dead source link, or a calculator formula that does not match its documented method.
Editorial judgment calls, such as which EV fits a commute better, are not factual errors. We still read that feedback and may revise a verdict if the reasoning no longer holds.
How corrections appear
- We fix the text and update the guide’s “updated” date.
- If we re-check the guide’s sources while fixing it, we also update its “last verified” date.
- For material errors that could change a reader’s decision, we add a short note to the guide describing what changed.
- Minor fixes such as typos or formatting are made without a note.
Keeping guides current
Time-sensitive guides, including incentives, charging costs, and policy, are reviewed when a rule we cite changes. Our About page explains how guides are researched and verified.
